De-Cluttering

With all the pressures of a modern life, clearing up and clearing out often get pushed aside in favour of more pressing deadlines. However the importance of living in a clear and tidy environment is not to be underestimated.

When our surroundings are cluttered, we feel cluttered. It can feel oppressive, suffocating and stale. Think about how you feel when you walk into your house when you've left the housework for a while, when the washing up hasn't been done, when the dirty laundry is lying all over the bedroom floor. Doesn't your heart sink?

Then remember how you feel when you walk into your home after a recent bout of housework. It's clear, clean and tidy. It feels fresh and light. I bet your heart lifts.

Now it's all very well to have a nice clear looking house, but what about what's behind the closed doors of the cupboards? What's stuffed in the drawers? Even this stuff can bring down our energy. In the same way that it's healthy to let go of our past traumas and other negative experiences, it's also healthy to let go of past "stuff" that has negative connotations.

Like releasing our emotional stuff, releasing our physical stuff can take time and be a process in itself. I've often gone through a drawer and not been able to let go of any of its contents, only to chuck half of it away a few weeks later.

This where the real benefits come through. Releasing material "stuff" can trigger us to re-look at our emotional stuff. It can trigger us to let go of our emotional "stuff". Amazing things can happen when you take a bag of unwanted things to the charity shop.

Often we are able to do this decluttering ourselves. But sometimes, when the clutter has got out of hand, or where there are difficult things to let go of, we need a bit of help. I fully realise the challenges associated with this and can help you with this in a safe and supportive environment.

I've been offering this service for the past few years to business customers as part of my sister company, Clear Desk Concepts. Now I realise that people need this more and more in their own homes so I'm bringing it into my therapy business.

A half day session costs £100.

I look forward to working with you.
